Wendi Paterson Inspiration Award – February 2020

This blog features the remarkable spirit of John Fenton, an 87-year-old who’s been setting the bar high year after year, by participating in The Coldest Night of the Year walks and raising money for a beautiful cause. So far, John and his team have raised over $50K in support of the Yonge Street Mission (YSM) here in Toronto, which helps people rise from poverty.

In the past John has used the ACTIVATOR Urban poles to walk, which have helped him optimize his balance and stability. However, in accordance with his physical needs this time he will supported by a walker. Poles or no poles, Urban Poling would like to take this opportunity to not only congratulate John for his determination and drive, but to also share his efforts with the community at large. If anyone would like to support John and his team, please feel free to make your contribution here. You can also visit the YSM’s website to learn more about what they do here.

We whole heartedly congratulate and celebrate John’s achievements and wish him–and others like him–the healthiest step forward. Way to go, John! You’re truly a beacon of light and we couldn’t be prouder.
