Join us as we present on the benefit of active living and a new exercise option for stroke rehabilitation and learn about where to access these programs.
Learn more about a new guide – Exercising with Walking Poles: A User’s Guide to Self-Assess Pole Walking Suitability. Developed by Karishma Patel, OT for her fieldwork placement supported by C.A.R.P and March of Dimes Canada.
This guide provides stroke survivors with information about the benefits of pole walking as an option for stroke rehabilitation. It also includes a tool to assist with one’s decision-making process of whether pole walking is an appropriate activity based on functional ability.
Speakers from Canadian Association of Retired Persons (C.A.R.P – a new vision for Aging) and March of Dimes Canada will introduce participants to where programs are hosted in person and upcoming virtual options where programs are currently suspended.
Date: Thurs Oct 29, 2020
Time: noon EST (9 am PST)
Presenters: Karishma Patel, OT, Mandy Shintani, OT & gerontologist, Angie Clark from March of Dimes Canada and Anthony Quinn from C.A.R.P.
