Balance Week 2024
Urban Poling Inc. and VeDA: Taking Steps Together to Improve Balance and Stability
We are proud to collaborate with our partner, VeDA (Vestibular Disorders Association), in raising awareness about vestibular disorders and to promote Balance Awareness Week from September 15 to 21st. It’s a time to highlight the importance of balance health and empower those affected to find the support and tools they need.
The vestibular system, located within the inner ear, plays a crucial role in maintaining balance and spatial orientation. If it’s not working properly, individuals can experience symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, imbalance and spatial disorientation. Vestibular disorders can significantly affect daily living activities and can lead to reduced mobility, increased risk of falls and diminished quality of life.
VeDa is dedicated to providing support, education and advocacy for those affected by vestibular disorders and aims to empower patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals with the resources they need to navigate the daily living challenges of living with vestibular conditions.
Our Activator poles, designed specifically for those with balance and stability issues, are always here to help and are making a small but impactful difference! Unlike traditional walking poles, Activator poles promote full-body movement and feature unique ergonomic handles and bell tips that engage upper body muscles while promoting proper posture and stability. This makes them a great option for anyone with vestibular disorders, enhancing both balance and confidence in mobility. After all, 4 points of contact are always better than 2!
Join us as we celebrate Balance Awareness Week to improve the lives of those affected by vestibular disorders through better mobility. By raising awareness, providing support, and offering innovative mobility solutions like Activator poles, we can empower individuals to walk confidently towards a brighter and more balanced future. Let’s start by taking a first steady step towards greater awareness, understanding, and support for vestibular health during Balance Awareness Week and beyond!
