Hot off the press…. An up to date, informative read for those living with Parkinson’s

Kristine Meldrum’s recently published book, Parkinson’s: How to Reduce Symptoms Through Exercise, is a resourceful guide for anyone living with the disease and is truly an empowering and motivational read.

In her book, Kristine emphasizes the important role of exercise, particularly, high-intensity cardiovascular exercises, to help manage, reduce symptoms and even help slow down the progression of the disease. The trick is in finding which form of physical activity most appeals to the individual as this will be a key factor in the frequency and continuity of their exercise regime. She offers practical, fun and social strategies plus illustrated exercises that address the unique challenges faced by those living with Parkinson’s and shares inspiring stories of how exercise made their journeys all the brighter.

When it comes to exercise, our dynamic Activator poles can turn regular walking into more of a cardiovascular workout in fun, easy and accessible way.  They not only enhance motor function, improve gait, balance, and overall quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s but are also versatile because they can be used in both standing and seated positions depending on the progression of the disease. Active living with Parkinson’s is not only possible but more important than ever and our poles are always ready to provide additional support.
