May is CANADA MS Month
Let’s mark the month of May by raising awareness about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and by making a difference in your community. MS is a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord and can be potentially disabling.
Did you know that 90,000 Canadians are living with MS and are affected by symptoms such as numbness or weakness, impaired vision, fatigue and balance issues, to name a few? Although the cause of the disease is still unknown and there is currently no cure, there are a lot of effective treatments to alleviate symptoms and keep hope alive.
We’re proud that Our Activator poles can help with balance and fatigue issues. Walking with poles provides 4 points rather than 2 and the bells tips provide an extra measure of balance and stability. That’s a winning formula because the reduced fear of falling, empowers clients to walk more frequently and for greater distances. Other health benefits include improved gait, posture, and core strength and lower levels of anxiety, fatigue and depression. The poles are also stylish and do not look like canes which is not only an added visual perk but can also be a motivating factor to use them daily.
World MS day is officially celebrated on May 30th, but the entire month is dedicated to education, awareness, advocacy and letting Canadians living with MS know that we stand with and support them. Our Activator poles will be there every step of the way helping them walk prouder and more confidently everyday!
