About our presenter:
Mandy Shintani, BSc (OT), MA (Gero) is presently the co-owner of Urban Poling Inc which developed the ACTIVATOR poles (patent pending) which are being prescribed instead of canes, crutches & walkers. The poles are found in 400 retailers in Canada and now internationally. The company has been featured in the Globe & Mail, Canadian Living, Zoomer, Ottawa Citizen & CBC. She also has extensive business experience including; private OT consultant and co-founder of Spectrum Rehab (comprised of 6 community rehab sites). In 2010, she was a finalist for the YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
