It’s that time of year again! Vacations and staycations are coming to an end and we’re slowly getting ready to settle back into our routines and daily living patterns. But this September is going to be unlike any other because we’re not quite sure what to expect. What will our new normal be? After all, we’re creatures of habit and we always looked forward to it precisely because of its familiarity and predictability. September meant a return to normalcy- whether it was back to school or back to work, it always brought with it the renewed hope of a new season. But the calm we once felt has been replaced with uneasiness. We have more questions than answers. We’re worried. We’re anxious. Nothing matters more to us than the health and well-being of our family and friends. It’s a balancing act. Moving forward, finding our new normal, while staying safe.
All we can do is make lifestyle decisions that we’re comfortable with and feel right for us while continuing to follow the most up to date Covid-19 distancing and safety protocols. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and just need to a little break from it all. Reset. Recharge. Re-energize. We don’t need to go far. Just outside the door. Go for a walk. It clears your mind, and eases some of the stress and anxiety that we may be feeling. Whether you prefer to go solo or with a friend, it will give you the added boost you’re looking for and some much- needed perspective. Grab your poles and make it more of a workout. We’ve been stuck inside for a long time and probably haven’t been as active as usual. Maybe we’ve just become more complacent. Time to get back on track. Start poling again. Get those muscles pumping and boost those feel good endorphins. It’s fun, it’s easy, it doesn’t require a membership and it fits into your schedule whenever you want. Take control. From the beginning, walking has always been one of the few approved activities. It’s been a constant in these ever-changing times. Why not make it yours?
