World Partnership Walk 2014 & the Together+Movement
Event #3 for our Together+Movement is the World Partnership Walk 2014 (click to read about the other two events: the Vancouver Sun Run and the Walk of Life). Every year, the World Partnership Walk engages tens of thousands of Canadians in a unique event that helps some of the most impoverished communities in the developing world find effective and long-term solutions to their most pressing problems. 100% of the funds raised are invested in health, education, and rural development projects that assist poor and disadvantaged communities in Asia and Africa. The Walk is organized by volunteers in ten cities across Canada, and unites Canadians in this common effort to bring hope and renewal to some of the poorest communities in the world.
This year the Walk is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and truly it’s the largest and most successful event of its kind in Canada! We are so excited to participate, to help end global poverty and we hope you’ll join us. Here are some details…
First, where and when can you participate in the World Partnership Walk? The Walk will take place on three Sundays …..
May 25th in Toronto, Vancouver, and Victoria;
June 1st in Montreal, Ottawa, and Regina; and
June 8th in Calgary, Edmonton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and London.
Next, how can you participate? You could register (it’s free!) as an individual ambassador, you could create a new team or join an existing Urban Poling team in your city! Jaqueline Murdoch is our Lead/Captain for the Toronto Area, and this is her ninth year participating in the World Partnership Walk. You can join her team by clicking here. If you have any questions or need help, email us at info@urbanpoling.com or send a message to Jaqueline (jackie@boomersforfitness.com), and we will be happy to help you!
As part of our Together+Movement, we are encouraging UP instructors and Urban Polers to join a team in their city and be a part of the Walk (it’s a family affair – bring your friends and family!) If you wish to sponsor an UP participant click here and use Advanced Search to find the UP teams. Stay tuned as UP Teams could appear in your area very soon!
