The Activator Poles Received the Arthritis Foundation Ease of Use Seal

Arthritis is quite common and people with arthritis have difficulty with some movements such as pinching, twisting and rotating. This is why the Arthritis Foundation developed the Ease of Use program to help people with arthritis find products to improve their lives. This helps ensure consumers know certified products can help make everyday tasks easier.

The Ease of Use section on arthritis.org features each product and/or package that has received the Ease of Use Certification. These pages make it simpler for consumers to find products that are easy to use.

After rigorous testing, our Activator Poles® received the Arthritis Foundation Ease of Use seal and were added on to the arthritis.org Ease of Use page for two consecutive years.

Our Activator Poles were tested, approved, and certified by the Arthritis Foundation. The research was conducted by Dr. W. Bradley Fain and was submitted by the Intuitive Design Applied Research Institute in Georgia, USA.

How the study on our Activator Poles was conducted

The study was conducted on participants with different types of arthritis where they used the Activator Poles and observed the product features.

Some of the tasks reviewed are understanding the product information sheet, watching the instruction videos, identifying the labels on top of the pole grip, adjusting the poles, grasping the core grip, collapsing the poles, and using the poles to walk outdoors.

Thankfully, our Activator Poles received user ratings no less than 4.7 out of 5 for all eight tasks. This means that the research finds that the Activator Poles passed all of the eight tasks. The observations are that the Activator Poles are easy to use and easy to grip.

We are proud to share that all users reported they would purchase Urban Poling Activator walking poles as a product for their own usage.

'I like using the poles in the yard. It provided stability that I did not expect. I also liked the resting section for the side of my hand that is located on the grip. Pressing down on the resting section of the grip really assisted in providing stability, and assisted in alleviating some of the pain I normally feel in my knee when I walk.'

‘I am surprised as to how much stability and help the poles provided, especially in mulch or on uneven surfaces such as rock / brush areas. I did not see much difference for me when I was on cement, but once I was on natural terrain, it helped immensely. I do believe because of bearing down on the poles as instructed, and using the poles to divert the weight from my legs to my arms will help with the pain I normally experience in my hip when walking.’
