Age is no barrier

October 5th is Active Aging Week and what better time to celebrate all of our amazing urban poling enthusiasts who prove everyday that age is just a number.  It doesn’t define or limit just how far you can go or what you can achieve with a dash of determination and a sprinkle of willpower!  Active aging can take on many forms and range from getting your dose of physical activity while sitting, walking, hiking or the more intense workout preferred by our fierce iron men and women.

Urban poling is as unique as you are and can fit into any lifestyle and suit your comfort level.  We couldn’t let this week go by without saluting our beloved champions and role models who walk with a dual purpose: staying active and giving back to the community! We are so appreciative of Joy Saunders from Nova Scotia who will be 102 years young this month and who walks daily with her Activator poles  to raise money for the VON.

Our hero,  87 year old John Fenton, who, with a little help from our Activator poles has been setting the bar high year after year by participating in the Coldest Night of the Year to raise money in support of the Yonge Street mission in Toronto. And let’s not forget about Russell MacKay from the Ottawa valley who walks with our Series 300 poles to raise money for kids at the local hospital.  These are just a few of our incredible seniors who are living proof that aging is what you make it and that your senior years can be just as rewarding, empowering and satisfying as you want them to be. We couldn’t be any prouder.

Here’s to you all!
