My grandfather inspires me to be healthy throughout life despite what challenges we face. He ran a marathon at age 75 and a few months later had his hip replaced. He then water ran until his next one was replaced and he’s been water running and walking since! He is 92 on June 23 and although his health has suddenly declined he still gets out on the deck to walk with his walker. He is so loving and has always been one of my best friends and he got me into running when I was 13. We ran together for years. So he is my role model for not only what it means to be healthy but what it means to be a good person.

My Dad, Al, is such a wonderful man! He’s raised my sister and I on his own since we were 16 and 11. And he’s been a wonderful granddad to our 3 daughters in total. I joke that he answers his phone EVERY time for us even though he has call display. He retired from the same place after 50 years. A great work ethic all his life. He’s always taught us to take care of our bodies inside and out. No smoking, drinking and keeping the mind and body active! He deserves the best!
