Together + Movement
The Urban Poling Team is thrilled to be launching this movement and our mission is twofold: 1) To inspire Canadians of all ages and stages to get together in a literal movement towards better health. 2) To harness that power of movement towards a good cause. Your body and mind will benefit from Urban Poling; so why not get together and walk towards a good cause! Research has shown that when fitness goals are coupled with a tangible goal/cause – the short term & long term results are always more powerful. For this reason, Urban Poling launched it’s Train for a 5 or 10K course to support our instructors and customers to train for one of the many events which occur every year in this great country. As with everything about Urban Poling, it is not just about what we are doing it is about what you are doing! We encourage you to let us know about events that you will be taking part in and we will do our best to support you in those events through promotion and in any other way we can. For moderately steep slopes, simply decrease the pressure on the base of the handles or drag your poles behind you. For steep slopes, keep your poles upright and in front and out to the side slightly, so if you do fall you won’t land on your poles. Bend your knees and elbows, and slow down any momentum. For long descents, it may be helpful to lengthen the poles.
