I’m 58 and do a lot of walking along roads with sidewalks and without. The unevenness of the terrain, with surprise pot holes, has caused me to fall too often, resulting in road rash and need for chiropractor care. These poles are a game changer, for stability, for catching myself on uneven surfaces, and easing lower-back strain. I want to keep moving, and these poles definitely help.

I just started using these poles and I’m optimistic that they will help me walk better. I have very bad osteoarthritis in both hips and lumbar stenosis. Being more active is a goal but it’s not easy with the weakness and chronic pain. I was using a cane but my gait was very asymmetrical. I began using a rollator/walker but my arms weren’t moving in sync with my legs and I was starting to feel weaker. I saw someone with trekking poles and did a little research to see if these might be helpful. I determined that these were the best for me and so far I’m very pleased. After just a few days, my spouse has noticed that I’m standing straighter and not hunched over. I’m having minor soreness from weak muscles but, to me, that’s a good sign that I’m on the right path. My only issue is, despite being imprinted with an “L” and “R”, I keep grabbing the wrong pole in each hand. I plan to get a little sticker so that I can identify them better until I get used to the way they feel. I’m very grateful that this company exists and makes this product for people like me.

After two back fusions, I could not walk without extreme lower back pain. My quality of life was extremely diminished because everything involves walking. I was seeing a postural restoration therapist who recommended these poles. They have…literally changed my life. The wrist rests help take just enough pressure off the lower back. They are also very stable and help with balance. I would highly recommend these [poles] for anyone having walking issues!

These were a game changer for me. I use a cane but it makes walking for exercise painful. With these I can walk faster and with my head up instead of my body curving down with my cane use. Worth it!

Using to relearn to walk and understand these are more for hiking however also work well for relearning to walk. So thankful I found through a web search. Excellent!

After brain surgery for a benign acoustic neuroma, my balance hasn’t been the same. A friend with MS suggested trekking poles. My husband ordered two different types, but they were not satisfactory. My therapist said the tips should be larger to provide more stability. I searched and found these. They have been great and my therapist said they were perfect.

I am taking an Urban Poling class through our local YMCA & we use these exact poles. I ordered these so I can use while not in class. What I like about the poles is the adjustability, lightness but also sturdiness if that makes sense as these give me 2 additional feet per se. I have a bad right hip so my balance is not always good so these give me additional support. I’m a little less than coordinated so it’s nice to have additional support if needed. I’m finding these work well on our local walking trails but I think could work well inside also as there is a stopper like rubber foot on the bottom of each pole.

I like these poles. They seem very sturdy and I can easily adjust the height, I also got their carry bag.

I have rheumatoid arthritis, and while I walk just fine, I struggle to rise from a kneeling position. After a recent fall in my driveway attempting to straighten up from a bent position, I decided it would be best to have a device to assist me. Because the arthritis affects my wrists, I wanted something that would not depend on grip strength. These fit the bill. The design of the handle takes the pressure off my wrists, and I can hold the poles with a loose grip. Using both poles, I rise with ease and stability and with no knee pain. I also hike, and I plan to use these for steep climbing. It is easy to adjust the height of the poles, and they appear well-made.

My wife was looking for some sturdy walking poles which have been shown to help Parkinson’s patients with walking exercise. Her arms don’t naturally move when she walks and the poles help to keep her upper body in motion. And also helps with posture.

We tried some others with straps, but they didn’t work as well. She like the handles and the adjustment on these and they don’t slip like some of the other types of poles.

Great rehab poles! I broke both femurs and have been recovering. I was using a cane until I tried a set of these at PT. Loved them so much that I ordered the exact same ones right away. Was so excited when they arrived. Great quality and very sturdy. Nice handle design helps them feel secure. I can walk at a normal pace with these. Life changing. Love them!!!

My partner is able to walk easily, without using a walker, with these poles. They also help him to stand up straighter.

I love these trekking sticks for walking. The handles are orthopedically designed as wrist holders versus holding a handle with straps. I needed these for [severe] balance issues when walking and they are so much more efficient than walking with a cane. I also like that they can be shortened or lengthened because I am 5 foot tall and these workout beautifully

I have Parkinson’s and have used trekking poles for several years. These Activator poles are lightyears better for my issues. They seem natural to use, give much more stability, help strengthen the arms and upper body, and make it easier to relearn how to walk more upright. I have developed a habit of looking at the ground to avoid danger. The poles make me feel secure enough to look up. In fact, structurally they may actually encourage it with hand and arm placement. I plan on having a friend with hip issues to try them because he’s given up walking.

    Good quality.

[B]ought these for my mother to help her walk independently. [T]he physical therapist is using them to help her walk better, giving her a full body workout with stability. I think I will purchase a pair for myself.

Love the [ACTIVATOR® Poles]. My walking has improved in speed, posture, stamina and balance. I really feel I owe all of it to the [ACTIVATOR® Poles]. And another plus because of the [Poles] is that I want to go walking and try for longer distances. They make walking fun.
