Better Balance with ACTIVATOR Poles, Level 2
This online practical course is designed for physiotherapists and kinesiologists who are looking for a new tool to improve balance skills for clients with Parkinson’s, vestibular conditions, CVA, ABI and less-active older adults; or for operating fall prevention programs.
The course provides over 15 specific exercises and tips for how to use ACTIVATOR poles for exercises to address six components affecting balance: flexibility; strength and endurance; centre-of-gravity control training; multisensory training; postural strategy training and gait pattern enhancement; and variation training.
Prerequisite: Urban Poling ACTIVATOR Course, Level 1; or Urban Poling ACTIVATOR Fall Prevention Course, Level 1.

Keep your poles more upright and in front of you. Lean forward slightly, and use the poles to help push you up the hill. If necessary, bend your elbows, but remember to transition back to the straight arm technique at the top of the hill
