We are elated to share with you that our business is celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary! As many of you know, Urban Poling aka Nordic Walking is now one of the fastest growing forms of fitness worldwide and we are so pleased to have been the driving force of its growth here in Canada! As a company, Urban Poling has evolved substantially over the past decade and through the course of this year we will be sharing with you stories and testimonials from real people which will truly high light this incredible evolution.

NEW WEBSITE! As you have likely noticed – we have a new and improved website! Take the time to peruse the site and learn more about the very heart of our company as well as the many research backed benefits of this amazing form of fitness & rehab.

NEW EVENTS! As part of our 10th Year we will be participating as a team in a variety of events including the 2ND largest 10Km in the World – the Vancouver Sun Run (April 19th), The World Partnership Walk (May 24th) The Cardiac Health Foundation Walk of Life (May 30th) not to mention several other expos and events across the country! PAN AM GAMES – ABORIGINAL PAVILION!! We are so excited to share that the biggest event Urban Poling has ever been involved with will be hosted in Toronto this coming July! Look for us there and be one of the first to see our newly launched line of Spirit Wear!

For moderately steep slopes, simply decrease the pressure on the base of the handles or drag your poles behind you. For steep slopes, keep your poles upright and in front and out to the side slightly, so if you do fall you won’t land on your poles. Bend your knees and elbows, and slow down any momentum. For long descents, it may be helpful to lengthen the poles.
